About This Call
The New Art, New Artists (NANA) College Student Program at the 67th Annual Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, The Original offers Michigan college students the opportunity to showcase and sell their artwork at no cost to participants. Established in 2006, the program selects six college artists through a competitive jury process to exhibit their work at the fair. Eligibility is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Michigan colleges and universities. Artists keep 100% of their sales revenue while receiving comprehensive guidance and mentorship.
The fair generates over $2.3 million in annual sales and attracts over 400,000 art lovers annually. NANA artists work in a shared booth and receive personalized mentorship from professional artists and AASAF staff from April through July, including guidance on presenting artwork, crafting artist statements, designing booths, and engaging with buyers. Mentorship includes one-on-one sessions with John Stanley, President of the AASAF Board of Directors. Artists participate in exclusive Buyer Tours with collectors, gallery owners, designers, and influencers, and are featured in the fair's extensive marketing efforts reaching a national TV audience of 3.5 million, 8.7 million radio listeners, and over 1.3 billion print and online impressions.
The fair takes place July 16-18, 2026 (setup July 15) in Ann Arbor at N. University, E. Washington, and Ingalls Mall. Fair hours are Thursday and Friday 10:00 AM–9:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM–8:00 PM. Amenities include electrical power at every booth, round-the-clock security, hospitality tent, catered artists reception, air-conditioned restrooms, secure storage, complimentary water delivery, booth sitters, free lunch, and flatbed dollies. Applications require 4 images of artwork and are due by March 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST. Notifications will be sent by email on April 10, 2026.
