About This Call
The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, The Original (AASAF) is the original art fair of the three concurrent fairs that annually transform central Ann Arbor into the largest juried outdoor art fair in the nation. Established in 1960, AASAF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization with a mission to enrich lives by connecting art, artists, and communities. The fair unfolds along Ann Arbor city streets surrounding the iconic Burton Bell Tower and the tree-lined heart of the University of Michigan's central campus, regularly ranking among the nation's top art fairs and consistently placing in the "Top Ten Best Art Festivals" in USA TODAY.
The fair takes place July 16-18, 2026, with applications due February 15, 2026 by 11:59 PM EST. Application fees are $45 early-bird (by 12/31/2025), $55 regular, or $65 late. Booth fees range from $700-$1500. Artists must submit 4 images of artwork plus 1 professional booth image. The jury process is highly selective, utilizing in-person media panels that score based on originality, technique, craftsmanship, and design. Awards include $12,000 in Excellence Awards ($1000 each) and $5,000-$10,000 in annual purchase awards.
Amenities include electrical power at every booth, round-the-clock security, hospitality tent, catered artists reception, secure storage, complimentary water delivery, free lunch delivery, and booth sitters. The fair benefits from significant media exposure including 4.57 million TV viewers, 23.2 million radio listeners, and 942 million print/online impressions. Artists may submit up to two applications within one category or across two categories, with a maximum of three total categories.
