Animals

Site:Brooklyn Gallery invites artists to submit work for the "Animals" exhibition, running September 20–October 20, 2019. This juried exhibition explores the varied aesthetic uses of animals in visual art, including personal connections with animals, the use of animal materials, how animals represent social, political, and aesthetic ideas, and imaginative or formally innovative uses of animals in art.

The exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older working in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, photography, and video. Only original works may be submitted. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to three images, with an additional $10.00 per image (maximum 12 images total). Video submissions are accepted (0-3 videos). The submission deadline is July 15, 2019 at 11:59 PM MT. Notification of acceptance will be sent July 23, 2019. The opening reception is Friday, September 20, 2019 from 6-9 PM.

Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standards (Plexiglas required except for hand-delivered work under 24" x 30"). Maximum size is 60" x 60" x 24" D. All artwork must be wired or have cleat attachment and ready for hanging. A label must be affixed to the back indicating artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and price. All artwork must be priced for sale. Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping and must provide their own insurance.
