About This Call
Animal, Mineral or Vegetable? is a 2D national juried exhibition celebrating still life, floral, and animal art in traditional or contemporary styles. The exhibition is open to student and adult artists working in any 2D media including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, photography, printmaking, computer art, and fiber arts.
Entry fee is $35 for a minimum of two images, with a $5 fee for each additional entry up to a maximum of five images. The juror is Director Jerry Smith, who holds an MFA from the University of Kansas and a Fellowship to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Awards include Best of Show and awards in four categories: Painting, Drawing/Printmaking, Photography, and Mixed Media, with $1,800 in total cash prizes.
Eligibility: US artists age 16 and up with original art from the last three years. 2D art size limit is 48 inches wide and 72 inches tall. All work must be suitably presentable and ready for hanging or display. Framed works may have glass or plexiglass and must have suitable hanging wire or D rings. Notification of acceptance is March 3, 2021. Shipping and hand delivery dates are March 3-21, 2021. Exhibition dates are March 23 to April 17, 2021, with a closing reception on Saturday, April 10, 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the DMAC gallery. Artists may pick up work at the end of the reception.
