Angelico Catholic Arts Guild Midwinter Light Juried Exhibition

The Angelico Catholic Arts Guild's mission is to enrich the faith and work of artists; to nurture a taste for Goodness, a longing for Truth, and a love of Beauty; to deepen the artist's relationship with the Creator; and to build networks of artists in friendships, collaborations and mentorships. The goal of this exhibition is to showcase fine art works produced by artists in the greater Cincinnati Region, to introduce Catholic artists to each other and the wider community, and to bring light in midwinter. Submitted artwork does not need to be of a religious nature but should evidence elements of Goodness, Truth and Beauty; witness to the dignity of the human person; attest to the reality of the spiritual life. The focus of the jurying process will be on excellence in concept, technique, and expression—work that will inspire and move the heart and mind toward God.

Eligibility: The Angelico Catholic Arts Guild welcomes all artists, Catholic and non-Catholic. All people of good will are welcome. Artists must reside in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. Visual arts media welcome, including painting, pastels, photography, sculpture, print-making, watercolor, glass, and fibre arts. Work must have been created within the last 3 years and not have previously been in a juried exhibition. Work created in an instructional setting, including workshops and art classes, are not considered original artwork. Maximum entries: three (3). Entry fee is $25 for up to three entries. Work may be for sale or Not-For-Sale (NFS); a 20% commission from sales will be required by the Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati (WACC).

Submission Requirements: Entries are digital and must be submitted online at CaFÉ (CallforEntry.org). Submit 1-3 images. Pay entry fee online at time of submission or by check made out to Angelico Catholic Arts Guild, mailed to PO Box 18092, Cincinnati, OH 45218 by January 10, 2020. Frames are required for most 2-D pieces—exceptions are gallery-wrap stretched canvas showing no bare or stapled edges, wall-mounted pieces designed to be displayed without frames (fabric pieces, works on panels, wall sculptures, 2-D glass art, etc.). All works must be delivered ready-to-hang with appropriate hanging hardware; saw-tooth hangers will not be accepted. Size of wall art, including frame, must not exceed 40″ x 40″. Sculpture, glass, and other 3-D artwork must fit on a pedestal measuring 20″ x 20″ x 39″. Photography entries cannot be digitally enhanced, manipulated or altered. Small items such as jewelry must include display props. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered and retrieved; no shipped works will be accepted. Exhibition runs February 1-4, 2020, with opening reception Saturday, February 1, 6-9 PM. Work drop-off is January 30, 2020. All entries are made at the risk of the entrant.
