Angelico Annual Greater Cincinnati Art Exhibition

The Angelico Catholic Arts Guild invites artists from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region to submit work that conveys a sense of the True, Good and Beautiful. This exhibition is open to any artist (both professional and amateur) over the age of 18. Works that engage with subjects of Catholic spirituality and Sacred Art are welcome and encouraged, though artists need not be Catholic to participate. Submitted artwork does not need to be overtly religious but should witness to the dignity of the human person, the reality of the spiritual life, and demonstrate mastery of the chosen medium.

Accepted media include painting, illumination, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, photography, work in precious metals, enamel, and liturgical textiles. All work must be of original concept and design; work created in instructional settings such as workshops and art classes are not considered original artwork. AI image generation programs are not permitted. Artists may submit up to three entries. Work may be for sale or not-for-sale; Xavier University Galleries request a 25% donation for works sold. The entry fee is $40 for up to three entries, payable online or by check received by August 30, 2024.

Frames are required for most 2-D pieces, with exceptions for gallery-wrap stretched canvas, wall-mounted pieces designed without frames, fabric pieces, works on panels, wall sculptures, and 2-D glass art. All works must be delivered ready-to-hang with appropriate hanging hardware. Wall art including frame must not exceed 40" x 40". Sculpture, glass, and 3-D artwork must fit on a pedestal measuring 20"x20"x39". Needlework, fiber art, and small items such as jewelry must include display props. Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered and retrieved; no shipped works are accepted. The exhibition runs September 14-28, 2024, at Xavier University, Gallagher Student Center, 3800 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45207, with an opening reception on Saturday, September 14 from 7-9 PM. Notification of accepted artists is September 6, 2024, with artwork delivery required by September 13, 2024.
