About This Call

Angad Arts Hotel and Grand Tavern by Chef David Burke invite submissions for artwork from the Greater Saint Louis region for display January 2020 through April 2020. Selected artwork will be prominently showcased in public areas of Grand Tavern and Angad Arts Hotel, located at 3550 Samuel Shepard Dr, Saint Louis, MO 63103.

Submissions may include drawing, painting, graphic design, photography, printmaking, glass, assemblage, collage, written word, fiber, or sculpture. Final pieces must be professionally framed and/or ready for display. Sculpture must be able to securely hang on the wall or be suitable for 3D display on architectural platforms and decorative shelving, with dimensions not exceeding 3 feet tall or 1 foot in diameter at base. Eligibility is open to individuals living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius (Chicago, IL and Kansas City, MO are not eligible). Entry fee is free. Up to 2 entries permitted per artist. Submission deadline is Friday, December 13th, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Proposals must include full name and contact information, social media handles, artist statement, purchase valuation, high resolution JPEG of artwork, and artwork title, size, weight, and media description. Optional materials include curriculum vitae/resume and written summary of relevant experience (500 words maximum). All entrants will be notified of proposal status by Sunday, December 22nd, 2019. Artwork must be delivered by Friday, January 10th, 2020 to be included in the Grand Center First Friday Artwalk and Opening Reception. Opening reception is Tuesday, January 21st, 2020.

Selected artwork will be displayed in prominent public spaces with name cards including artist information and artwork value. Artwork will receive professional photography documentation and promotion through AAH's website and social media. All displayed artwork is available for purchase; AAH requires 33% commission with artists receiving 67% of sale. Artwork sold must remain on display for the duration of the agreement. Artwork will be included in Grand Center Art District's First Friday artwalks and curator tours. Artist is responsible for delivery to and from the venue, except for artwork purchased by the public.
