About This Call
Arts at the Depot Juried Fine Art Exhibition is a highlight of the Anacortes Arts Festival, running July 25 - August 2, 2026. The exhibition showcases regional fine art to the Festival audience (estimated at 90,000) and displays 1-3 pieces from selected artists working in both 2D and 3D in all mediums. New this year, Art at the Depot includes a Focus Gallery featuring the work of three artists selected from the previous year's Exhibition. The 2026 juried artists will be eligible for Focus Gallery selection in 2027. The exhibition is housed at the Depot Art Center, a historic train station located two blocks east of the main Festival thoroughfare.
This year's juror is Christian Waguespack, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Curator for the Museum of Northwest Art (MoNA). There is no juried theme in 2026 and there are no size restrictions for this show. Artists working in 2D categories (Drawing & Painting including mixed media, Original Print Media in Limited Edition, Photography, Digitally Generated Art, and Video) and 3D categories (Sculpture, Fine Crafts including fiber, ceramics, metals, glass, wood, basketry, jewelry, and installation) are invited to enter. AI generated artwork is ineligible.
Artists are eligible for up to $5,500 in awards, including $2,000 for Best of Show selected by the Juror. Two or three artists from the 2026 Juried Exhibition will be invited to show a larger body of work in the 2027 Focus Gallery, which includes a $1,000 stipend. Entry fee is $35.00. Deadline for applications is March 12, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PDT, with notification by April 14, 2026. Submit 1-3 images of work samples.
