About This Call
The annual Juried Fine Art Exhibition, Arts at the Port, is the crown jewel of the Anacortes Arts Festival. The show runs July 30 - August 7, 2022, and is housed in the Port of Anacortes Transit Shed Event Center, a rustic waterfront setting at the north end of the Festival. The mission of this exhibition is to showcase regional fine art to the Festival audience (estimated at 90,000). The exhibition displays 1-5 pieces from selected artists working in both 2D and 3D media. Arts at the Port also includes the Allen Family Invitational Gallery.
Juror Greg Robinson is the chief curator for the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. His art career includes positions as executive director of Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, director of William Traver Gallery in Tacoma, and executive director of the Museum of Northwest Art in La Conner. Greg has served on the board of the American Craft Council and on numerous selection committees for exhibitions and awards. There is no juried theme in 2022, and no size restrictions for entries.
Artists are eligible for up to $9,000 in awards, including $2,000 for Best of Show selected by the juror. This show is open to regional artists from Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. Entry fee is $35.00. Submit 1-5 images of work. All accepted and displayed work must be for sale and created by the applicant. No reproduced work (except photography or digitally created) will be accepted. No work displayed or for sale elsewhere in the Festival is allowed, and no work previously shown in the Juried Exhibition will be accepted. Installation and video artists must submit a written or drawn proposal documenting their proposed work. Contact Rita James at [email protected] or 360-293-6211 for questions about work outside the standard application format.
