An Eye Not Told What to See, Sees More

Bitfactory Gallery announces a national call for entries for the exhibition "An Eye Not Told What to See, Sees More," to be held September 29 - October 12, 2023. The exhibition is inspired by a quote from Prof. Jake Berthot: "an eye not told what to see, sees more." Artists are invited to interpret this phrase through their work, whether literally or figuratively, and show what this concept means to them.

Eligible submissions include original two-dimensional work in any media, including photography, painting, collage, fiber/textile, mixed media, wood, glass, and printed works (no open-ended or poster prints; Giclée prints not permitted). Work must be completed within the last three years and not previously shown at Bitfactory Gallery. Maximum size is 48 x 48 inches including frame. Artists may submit up to 3 pieces with a $35 entry fee, plus $5 per additional image (maximum 20 images total). All artwork must be wired and ready to hang upon arrival, weigh less than 35 pounds, and have finished edges with no staples. The juror is Dan Drossman.

Artist notification is September 18, 2023. Artwork must be received by September 25, 2023, or hand-delivered September 26, 2023, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. The opening reception is Friday, September 29, 2023, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Artwork pickup is October 13, 2023, 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Work must be available for sale; Bitfactory Gallery retains a 30% commission on all sales.
