American Tapestry

American Tapestry is a virtual exhibition open to current members of the California Art Club, including Associate Artists, Student Artists, Artists, Out-of-State Artists, Mentorship Program Artists, and Signature Artists. The exhibition runs from July 3, 2026 to September 21, 2026.

The exhibition presents a series of vignettes reflecting the richness of life in America, both individual and collective. Artists are encouraged to represent American Tapestry through contemporary-traditional methods in any genre. Artwork must be created in the last three years. Eligible mediums include oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, acrylic, charcoal, color pencil, graphite, and sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin, or wood. Clay is acceptable if cast for sale or marked NFS. Giclees, prints, photography, digital works, and digitally altered works will not be accepted. NFS works are now eligible for consideration.

The entry fee is $35 for one submission and $8 per each additional entry, with no limit on the number of entries. Submissions are made through Online Juried Shows. Artists will be notified via email on or around Monday, April 20. The guest judge is Rochelle Belsito, Editor-in-Chief of Southwest Art magazine. Awards include First Place ($1000), Second Place ($500), Third Place ($250), Honorable Mention ($100), and Special Recognition Awards ($50) for Student Artist, Mentorship Program, and Associate Artist Members. The commission split is 60% Artist and 40% CAC. Approximately 30-40 works of exceptional artistic merit will receive visibility through exhibition on the CAC website, featured social media posts, and CAC Newsletter features. If a work sells, the collector assumes shipping costs, and sold works are expected to be framed. Artwork cannot be removed during the exhibition duration.
