About This Call
Site:Brooklyn invites artists to submit work that imagines or documents the American road trip. This international juried art exhibition is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in North America, in all two-dimensional media including painting, photography, printmaking, and mixed media.
The juror is Erik Hougen, Artistic Director/Master Printer at the Lower East Side Printshop. Hougen is an artist, educator, and printer who has exhibited at The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Bronx Museum, IPCNY, The National Arts Club, and Sugarlift. He was an Artist in Residence at Kunsthalle Galapagos and a SIP Fellow at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
Submission Requirements: Submit 3-10 images of original work. Entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. All entries must be received by December 16, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by December 22, 2015. Exhibition dates are January 20 – February 19, 2016, with an opening reception on Wednesday, January 20 from 6-9 PM. A $1,000 award will be given.
Accepted Work Requirements: Maximum size 48" w x 60" h x 4" d. All work must be professionally framed (no clip frames or saw-tooth hangers; use Plexiglas except for hand-delivered work under 24" x 30"). Work must be wired and ready for hanging with a label on the back indicating artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and price. All artwork must be priced for sale. Work cannot be withdrawn or sales shipped before the end of the exhibit. Site:Brooklyn retains a 40% commission on all sales.
Delivery: Shipped artwork must arrive between January 2-15, 2016. Hand delivery is available January 14-15 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hand-delivered work must be removed by the artist on February 23-24 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The artist assumes all responsibility for shipping insurance and return shipping costs. Site:Brooklyn assumes no liability for loss or damage to artwork.
