About This Call
The American Impressionist Society's 11th Annual National Juried Exhibition will be held at Richland Fine Art, 4009 Hillsboro Pike, Suite 203, Nashville, Tennessee, 37215. The exhibition runs from October 7 to November 3, 2010, with an opening reception and awards presentation on October 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Participants must be current AIS members (membership dues $50). Work must be original, impressionistic paintings in oil, pastel, acrylic, or watercolor created within the last two years and not previously exhibited in an AIS show. Emphasis is on capturing light and color using broken brush strokes and impasto. One work may be up to 24"x30" (720 sq. in.) and two works up to 11"x14" (154 sq. in.). All work must be suitably framed in gallery quality, wired and ready for hanging, with no glass or metal frames. Entry fee is $48 for up to three artworks. Digital entries must be submitted by June 30, 2010. Accepted works must be delivered September 27 through October 1, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Awards include Best of Show ($3,000), First Prize ($2,000), Second Prize ($1,000), Third Prize ($750), William Schultz Award for Oil ($500), 10 Merit Awards ($200 each), and 10 Honorable Mention Awards ($150 each). Southwest Art Magazine will provide an Award of Excellence with a full page ad. All artwork must be for sale with a 50/50 split between artist and gallery.
