American Impressionist Society, Inc., 10th Annual National Juried Exhibition at Saks Galleries

The American Impressionist Society's 10th Annual National Juried Exhibition will be held October 23 to December 1, 2009 at Saks Galleries, 3019 East 2nd Avenue, Denver, Colorado 80206. The society's goal is to promote the appreciation of Impressionism through exhibitions, workshops and other media, with emphasis on capturing light and color using broken brush strokes and thick impasto.

Participants must be current AIS members for 2009 (membership dues $50). Works accepted in oil, pastel, acrylic, or watercolor must be suitably framed, wired, and ready for hanging without glass. Canvas size cannot exceed 24"x36" or 864 square inches excluding frame. Entry fee is $50 for up to two artworks and one miniature work (under 40 sq. in.). Submissions are made online at www.CallForEntry.org. The digital entry deadline is July 10, 2009, with entrant notification mailed July 27. Accepted works must be delivered to Saks Galleries between October 13-16, 2009.

Awards include Best of Show ($3,000), First Prize ($2,000), Second Prize ($1,000), Third Prize ($750), William Schultz Award for Oil ($500), and 10 Honorable Mention Awards ($150 each). Judge of awards is Quang Ho, AIS Master Artist. Sales split: Artist 60%, Saks Galleries 30%, AIS 10%. All artwork must be for sale. The opening reception with preview and awards is October 23 from 5-7 p.m. A digital catalog will be published with each entering artist receiving one complimentary CD.
