About This Call

The American Craft Council's Online Artists Directory provides craft artists with an online platform and dedicated staff support to help grow their creative business over the course of an entire year. Each artist's profile page includes images of their work, a featured video, bio and Q&A, and links to their website and Instagram account.

Customers can shop from the Online Artists Directory during pop-up marketplace events scheduled regularly within the platform, where they can purchase one-of-a-kind gifts, unique fashion, art for the home, and limited-edition works. Artists will be promoted to the American Craft Council's targeted craft audience of over 57,800 email subscribers, 100,000 social media followers, and 80,000 readers of American Craft magazine, as well as through dedicated paid and cross-promotional advertising. Directory artists will also be the first to be considered for partnerships and collaborations as they arise. The e-commerce platform has generated over $852,000 in revenue for participating artists since launch in fall 2020.

Applicants must submit a separate application for each eligible medium at a cost of $10 per application. Each application must include five images representative of the artist's body of work, a brief artist statement/bio, and short narratives on the creative practice behind the work. Eligible media include basketry, ceramics, clothing and accessories, fiber and textiles, furniture, glass, jewelry, lighting, metal, mixed media, paper, and wood. Work must be handmade craft reflecting excellence and unique vision, made under the direct supervision of the applicant, and produced in the United States. Commercially manufactured work, paintings, photographs, and work incorporating unsustainable or endangered materials are not eligible. The American Craft Council reserves the right to require authentication of the production process at any time.
