American Conversations

Art Saint Louis presents "American Conversations," an all media juried visual art exhibition featuring artworks that examine what it looks like to live in America in 2019. All explorations and interpretations of this theme are invited, with all media, styles, and techniques encouraged.

Eligibility is open to artists 21 years of age and older living in the St. Louis, Missouri region and surrounding 200-mile radius. Artists must be residents of the St. Louis region/200-mile radius when the show begins on August 3, 2019. Jurors for this exhibit are artists Yvonne Osei and Eric Schultis. Awards of Excellence will be selected by the Jurors and include one $250 Best of Show Award of Excellence and four non-cash Awards of Excellence. All five Award recipients will be eligible for the "Honor Awards 2020" ten-artist curated exhibit presented at Art Saint Louis, June 13-July 16, 2020, curated by Amy MacLennan.

The exhibition will be held at Art Saint Louis Gallery, 1223 Pine Street in downtown St. Louis, MO, from August 3-September 5, 2019, with a free reception on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 5-7 p.m. Entry fee is $35.00 for non-members and $20.00 for ASL members. Submit 1-6 images and 0-3 videos (maximum 6 total samples). Limit 3 original artworks in all media, styles, and techniques that respond to the theme. Artwork must be completed between 2016-2019 and not previously exhibited in any juried exhibit in the St. Louis region during the 6 months prior to exhibit dates or in any exhibit at Art Saint Louis Gallery. All artworks must be available for exhibition and may not be double-booked or sold without availability. Selected artworks may not be substituted. All artist-entrants will be notified of acceptance status by email by June 14, 2019. The entry deadline is May 10, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
