American Contemporary Craft: National Juried Exhibition

LHUCA seeks artists utilizing traditional and innovative craft techniques while maintaining contemporary relevance and broadening the interest of craft as a modern medium. This open call is for all artists working in craft mediums including books, paper and collage, clay, glass, iron, metals, print and letterpress, fiber, wood, and mixed media.

Work specifications: Maximum 36" wide for 2-D work up to 8' tall. 3-D work no larger than can fit on a 24" x 24" pedestal. Floor pieces no larger than 24" x 24" x 8'. Only plexiglass is accepted as glazing on framed pieces; hand-delivered pieces may have glass. Eligibility: Artists must be at least 18 years of age and living in the United States. Entry fee is $20 for up to three entries. Entry deadline: August 31, 2020. Artists will be notified via email on September 7, 2020. Delivery deadline: September 25, 2020. Exhibition dates: October 2 – November 28, 2020 at LHUCA Martin McDonald Gallery. Opening receptions: October 2 and November 26, 2020 during the First Friday Art Trail 6 – 9 pm. Return shipping provided week of December 1, 2020.

Juror: Kathryn Gremley, Gallery Director, Penland School of Craft. Cash prizes: 1st place $500, 2nd place $250, 3rd place $100, and 2 Honorable Mention awards of $50 each.
