Amazing Space

Amazing Space is a juried exhibition open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media, excluding photography and digital art. The exhibition will take place both online and in person at the Rhode Island Watercolor Society gallery in Pawtucket from August 5th through September 1st, 2023. The juror is Mark Fernandez. Artists are invited to submit pieces that exemplify amazing spaces, with their own interpretation of the theme.

Submit 1-3 images of work completed within the last 10 years. Entry fee is $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Each additional image costs $20 for non-members and $15 for members. Acceptable 2D media include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera on any 2D surface. Pieces may not exceed 48 inches on the longest side including frame. Work must be professionally presented, framed under glass or Plexiglas with wiring that does not show when hung. Paintings on canvas or wood do not need to be framed but should have clean, professionally finished sides.

Work must not have been previously exhibited in a Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show, must be original work not copied from copyrighted material or created under another's guidance, and must not be created by following a tutorial. Drop-off and shipping dates are July 21st through August 3rd, 2023 (Thursdays and Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm). Notification of acceptance is July 20th. Pick-up and return shipping dates are September 2nd through 16th. The Rhode Island Watercolor Society retains 35% commission on any sales.
