Amazing Black and White (2026)

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers, and sculptors of all levels to submit original black and white artwork to this exhibition. All subject matter is acceptable in any style or technique—traditional or non-traditional, realistic or abstract. Accepted mediums include painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, sculpture, fiber, drawing, and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images, with additional images available for $5.00 each up to a maximum of 9 total submissions. All images must be submitted as JPEG files under 5 MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Submissions must include title, medium, size, price, and year of completion. Artwork must be professionally finished and ready for secure installation with stretched wire attached to the back. Paintings should not exceed 48 inches (framed) on the longest side and must not weigh more than 50 lbs. Sculptures should not exceed 28 inches on any dimension. Photographs may be framed (48 inches maximum) with black or white frames preferred, or mounted using other methods.

Jurors will review all submissions, and artists will be notified by email on or about November 11, 2025. Accepted artwork must arrive at the gallery no later than January 10, 2026. The exhibition runs January 14 - February 14, 2026. Awards include an "Art of Distinction" Award featuring a special exhibition, an Annual Grand Prize offering a New York City exhibition opportunity, and an optional Director's Choice Award of $200. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance both to and from the gallery and must provide a prepaid return shipping label. Unsold artwork will be returned February 18-23, 2026.
