Alternative Printmaking

Alternative printmaking may include traditional techniques with other methods, mixed media, clay printing, original transfer art on clay, gelli prints, monoprint, collage, collagraph, printing on cloth or clay, cyanotype, silkscreen, and other ways of showing your art. Entry deadline is February 24, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $35.00 for 1 to 3 entries (non-refundable). Submit 1 to 3 images of your work. Accepted artists will be notified February 26. Work must be dropped off at the gallery (915 Santa Fe Drive, Denver) on Wednesday, February 28 from 11am–3pm. NO SHIPPING. The exhibit runs March 1–31, 2024, with an artists reception on Friday, March 15 from 5–8 pm. Artwork pickup is Sunday, March 31 from 3–5 pm.

Eligibility: Applicant must be over 18. All artwork must be original and created by the artist or independent group effort. 2D or 3D work only; no videos, giclees, or AI-generated art. All artwork must be for sale and well executed, clean, dry, and ready to display. 2D work must be ready to hang with secure wire on the back (no zigzag or triangular hangers) and use simple frames. Unframed paintings on canvas or board must have at least a 1½ in. border. 2D work can be no larger than 48 inches wide x 72 inches long with or without frame. 3D work must not exceed 50 pounds and be sturdy and able to stand alone. Wall-hung 3D work cannot exceed 25 pounds. Pedestal-displayed 3D work should be no larger than 24 x 24 inches at the base. If a piece requires special nails or equipment for display, bring or send it with the artwork. Artists are solely responsible for delivery and pickup of all artwork.
