All that Glitters

Gallery One Visual Arts Center announces their fourth national juried exhibition titled All that Glitters, celebrating their 50th golden anniversary year. Entries of work in any medium that exemplifies the idea of gold will be accepted from across the nation and juried by Keith Lewis and Tariqa Waters for inclusion in a month-long exhibition in March 2018 at Gallery One in downtown Ellensburg. The exhibition will be featured in the Main and Mezzanine Galleries.

All mediums that reference "gold" are eligible, including painting, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, installation, video, photography, and new media. Artwork can be made of gold, utilize the color gold as a primary element, or conceptually reference gold. A maximum of 6 artwork entries may be submitted. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. Open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the USA. All work must have been completed within the last three years, originals only (no reproductions), and cannot be completed under the direction of an instructor or as a matriculated student.

Awards totaling $1,000 will be distributed: $400 for Most Innovative Artwork, $250 for Best Traditional Use of Gold, $250 for Best Non-Traditional Use of Gold, $100 for Award of Merit, and $100 for Gallery Pick. All exhibiting artists will receive a printed catalog and a PDF version available online. Accepted artwork must be for sale, and artists receive a 60% commission of the retail value. Email notifications will be sent February 12, 2018. The opening reception is March 2, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. with awards at 6:15 p.m. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks.
