All Texas All Pastels!

All Texas All Pastels! is a juried exhibition open to Texas residents age 18 and over. Work must be minimum 80% soft pastel with no oil pastel allowed. All work must be original, painted from life, from a photograph taken by the artist, or from the artist's imagination. Paintings must have been completed within the last three years. Representational or abstract artworks are accepted; nudes are allowed if not sexually explicit. Work previously exhibited in prior APS exhibitions or at Artworks will not be accepted.

Artwork must be framed professionally and ready to hang, with maximum dimensions of 24 x 36 inches excluding the frame. Frames must be sturdy and suitable to the artwork's size and weight; no saw-toothed hangers, metal frames, colored top mats, or colored frames are permitted (gold and silver are considered neutral). Either Plexiglas or glass is allowed. Entries are submitted as high-quality JPEG images at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB.

The exhibition will hang May 2–3, 2024 at Artworks Gallery. Awards include Gold ($1,000), Silver ($750), Bronze ($500), three Awards of Exceptional Merit ($100 each), and a People's Choice Award ($50). All work must be available for exhibition and is not eligible for substitution prior to or during the exhibit. All artwork must be for sale, with the gallery retaining a 50% commission on sales. Artists will be paid within 30 days of the close of the exhibit. Pickup is available June 18–19, 10am–5pm, or shipping can be arranged at the artist's expense.
