About This Call
Naples Botanical Garden, in conjunction with the National Sculpture Society, presents a juried outdoor sculpture exhibition titled "All Creatures Great and Small." The exhibition will feature works of sculpture in permanent media throughout the Garden and in the new visitor center during Naples' high season. Naples Botanical Garden is southwest Florida's premier garden with rotating outdoor exhibitions located in the city of Naples along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. The National Sculpture Society, founded in New York City in 1893, is the oldest organization of professional sculptors in the United States.
The exhibition is open to all sculptors. Subject matter should be of or having to do with animals. Sculptures may be in any permanent medium suitable for outdoor display in Florida. Works of all sizes will be considered; large works are strongly encouraged. Sculptors may submit up to 2 works (3 images per work, if needed) for a maximum of 6 images submitted. The entry fee is $25. All entries are subject to jury review. Submission deadline is September 30, 2014. The jury of selection is composed of at least one sculptor, one curator, and one or more NBG representative. Notifications will be sent within one week after jury selection.
The exhibition runs January 8 - March 8, 2015 at Naples Botanical Garden. All accepted sculptors will be asked to sign an agreement to lend their work for the duration of the exhibition. NBG will secure a standard insurance policy for objects while on display and in transit. NBG will pay for all installation, de-installation, and all or a portion of shipping costs to and from NBG. All works included in the exhibition will be reproduced in a color brochure. A commission of 30% will be charged on all sales; income will be used to help cover exhibition costs.
