Alexander Brest Gallery Open Call for Exhibition Proposals

The Alexander Brest Gallery at Jacksonville University (Jacksonville, FL) is seeking exhibition proposals for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. The 2300 square foot gallery space welcomes proposals for 2D, 3D, installation, and video work. Both solo and group exhibition proposals will be considered. The gallery is located at the Linda Berry Stein College of Arts & Sciences on Jacksonville University's historic riverfront campus.

This open call is available to all artists in the continental US. Group exhibitions and curatorial proposals are welcomed, as well as solo exhibition proposals from established and emerging artists in all mediums. If applying as a team, submit one résumé for the team with no more than one page per team member. The gallery is committed to sharing the voices of artists from a broad diversity of backgrounds.

Applications must include: an exhibition narrative with a clear thesis statement describing the proposed exhibition (for project proposals, include a timeline and note if any work will be created on-site, which must be completed in under three days); a CV/resume limited to two pages per person with contact information; and up to 12 high-resolution images (300 dpi) for solo exhibitions or three images per person for group exhibitions. For video/audio work, include links for online streaming along with video stills. Applicants must also include a JU student engagement activity such as a studio visit, lecture, demonstration, or collaboration. Submit a single PDF file with filename format: LastName_FirstName_ExhibitionTitle_Proposal.pdf to [email protected]. There is no application fee. Artists selected will receive hotel accommodations, honorariums, social media marketing, and professional photography of their exhibition.
