About This Call
The Alaska Triennial is organized by the Anchorage Museum and celebrates place through the lens of contemporary art with new works submitted by Alaska artists. Individual artists are encouraged to submit works in a variety of media, including performance, writing, and sound. The 2025 Alaska Triennial will be juried by Mary Bradshaw, Director of Visual Arts at the Yukon Arts Centre.
Eligibility: Artists must be Alaska residents currently residing in the state and/or based in the state for 6+ months a year. Work must be made within 2 years of the application date (2022 to present). Work must be created by an individual artist; group or collaborative works will not be considered. Artists must be 18 years of age or older. Each artist may submit a maximum of 3 works. Submissions must include 1-6 images and up to 6 videos total. Entry fee is $10.00. All entries must be installation ready and include an insurance value. For performance art, artists will be contacted for a technical rider prior to jury review. For written work, if 1 page or less, writers may submit up to 3 works; for longer form pieces, submit only one work with a limit of 2,500 words.
Artists will be notified by November 15, 2024 regarding works accepted into the exhibition. Works accepted must be delivered to the Anchorage Museum in December 2024 and January 2025. Artists are responsible for inbound shipping/delivery expenses; the Museum covers return shipping expenses. Return of works will occur in the same method as delivery unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing by the Museum.
