About This Call
Brookfield Residential and the City of Avondale are seeking to commission a unique permanent signature artwork installation for Alamar Park, a new 40-acre regional park currently under construction in Avondale, Arizona. The artwork should be engaging and interactive for visitors, respond to the context of its location, draw people in, invite engagement and interaction, and create memorable moments.
The artwork will be sited in the center of a hardscape plaza that measures roughly 46 feet in diameter. Artists are encouraged to consider long-term maintenance needs and highly-durable, low-maintenance materials to ensure longevity. The total budget for design, delivery, and installation is $100,000.
Artists must submit at least 6 and up to 20 images of past work along with a professional resume. This call is open to regional artists. Finalists will be identified by October 15, 2021, and invited finalists will be interviewed on November 1, 2021. The artwork is scheduled to be complete and installed by March 2022.
