About This Call
The AIS Online Exhibition is open to current or new paid members of the Artist Impressionist Society who are legal US residents. Membership dues of $60 must be paid prior to the entry deadline. The exhibition features work in oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, casein, egg tempera, oil sticks, and gouache. Mixed media, photography, digital, AI, and reproductions are not permitted. Work must be original in concept and execution, impressionistic in style, and completed within the last three years. Work created in any class or under instructor guidance is not eligible. Work painted from reference photos must be created from the artist's own photographs.
AIS Associate and AIS Signature members may enter up to five artworks. Entry fees are $20 for the first painting and $10 per additional painting up to five works (total $60 for five paintings). Entry fees are nonrefundable. Maximum of one painting per artist may be accepted into the show. No framing is required. Artists retain 100% of sales price; AIS will direct buyers to artists' websites and contact information included in the online exhibit. Work may be entered that is not for sale. Accepted works will be posted in a special AIS online digital catalog and AIS Facebook pages. Entries may not have been exhibited in any previous AIS exhibition, though work entered but not accepted into previous AIS shows may be resubmitted if requirements are met.
Awards are judged by Clayton Beck AISM. Best Impressionist Work/Best of Show: $2,000; First Place for Masters: $750; First Place for Signature Members: $750; First Place for Associate Members: $750; Ten Honorable Mentions: $75 each. Submit high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Crop images to show only the artwork without matting, frames, or background. Contact Elizabeth Ahrens at [email protected] for questions about the prospectus, eligibility, or artwork requirements.
