Airport Roundabout

The SLC Department of Airports is reconfiguring 4000 West, located north of the airport terminal and concourses. As part of this roadway reconfiguration, a roundabout is being planned to assist with traffic flow. An art installation is planned for the center of the roundabout with a usable area of 75 feet in diameter. This roadway is used primarily by airport employees including those from the maintenance department, Delta reservations center, FAA tower, and SLC fire station. The design should reflect "Flight" and be made of materials durable enough to withstand year-round weather.

Artists must submit 10-20 photos of exterior art that has been installed on roadways, specifically roundabouts, in geographic areas with four-season weather patterns. Artists must be 18 years or older and have the resources to deliver and install the art piece in 2025. Preference will be given to artists who have installed art in a roadway roundabout and/or large-scale exterior art installations. The project budget is $100,000 plus. Applications must be completed on CaFE.
