About This Call

The Los Angeles Printmaking Society invites members in good standing with current 2018 membership to submit work for the "AIR, WATER and EARTH" exhibition. The theme reflects concerns for our planet expressed through the vital elements of life during a time of great challenge and change.

Eligible work must use printmaking as the primary process, including traditional processes, monotypes, and experimental techniques. Work may incorporate other media, installation, collaboration, and multi-media approaches, but printmaking must be dominant. Traditional photography, offset reproductions, and strictly digital prints are not acceptable. Artists may submit up to 3 artworks (3D work may include additional images upon request). There are no size limits, though size will impact the amount of work shown. Entry is free for LA Printmaking members. Collaborative work may be submitted only once, with at least one artist being a current LA Printmaking member.

The exhibition runs April 19 - June 10, 2018 at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center, 1201 W. Malvern Ave., Fullerton, CA 92833. The opening reception is Sunday, April 22nd, 3:00 to 6:00 PM, with Earth Day events from 1:00 to 3:00 PM the same day. A gallery tour and artist talk will be held May 10th, 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Jury notification is April 4th, 2018. Work must be delivered by Friday, April 13th. A Juror's Award of $500 and an Honorable Mention of $125 will be awarded. The Muckenthaler will retain 40% commission on any artwork sold. For eligibility questions, contact [email protected].
