AHHA Call to Artists

Artists ages 18 years and older are invited to submit artwork proposals for AHHA's 2016-2017 exhibition schedule. Individual artists, organizations, and collectives working in all media are encouraged to submit exhibition proposals. Artwork created in the last two years and not previously exhibited in the Tulsa area is strongly encouraged. Selected works of art must come prepared for installation, and AHCT may refuse works not appropriately prepared. AHCT receives 30% commission of each sale. Artists selected to exhibit will be subject to the conditions outlined in AHCT's Content Policy.

It is required that individual artist applicants, or at least one member of an artist collective or organization, be a member of AHHA in good standing as of October 2, 2015. Artists are responsible for funding the creation of the work and for shipping, handling, delivery, and pick up of the work; AHCT will repack works in materials provided by the artist. AHCT will supply gallery space and installation and program assistance.

Each proposal must include an exhibition statement explaining the theme and concept, a statement of purpose, biography, and resume for each artist or organization. Applicants must propose three program opportunities (such as workshops, lectures, artist talks, or panel discussions) with brief descriptions and target audiences. Submit 5-10 images in JPEG format (no more than 5MB per image) with descriptions including artwork title, materials, price if for sale, dimensions, and date of completion. Film submissions should be in MOV or MP4 format with minimum size 640 x 480 and maximum 100 MB, with a written summary including film title, director name, film length, and date of completion; the panel will review up to 3 minutes of each work. Site-specific installation proposals should include descriptions of the proposed work, space requirements, materials, sketches, and images or media of past related artworks. Detail any required special equipment such as projectors, film screens, scissor lifts, or electricity.
