About This Call
AHA! Art Immersive is a month-long exhibition at Wailoa Center celebrating the spectrum of creativity and advancing inclusive arts entrepreneurship in honor of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The exhibition is sponsored by Full Life, Abled Hawaiʻi Artists (AHA), Hawaiʻi Island Art Alliance (HIAA), and the Hawaiʻi State Parks.
The exhibition is open to all Hawaii 2D, 3D, and video artists. Artists may submit up to five entries, with a $20 non-refundable entry fee per submission. First entry is free for Hawaii Island students (use code 'HIStudent'). Work samples may include images, audio, or video files (maximum 5 MB file size). A bio and artist statement (300 word limit) are highly recommended. Artwork must have been created in the past 10 years and cannot have been previously exhibited at Wailoa Center. No reproductions or AI-generated or assisted art will be accepted. 2D works must not exceed 7' tall x 9' wide; 3D works must not exceed 10' tall or 6' wide. Artwork with sensitive subject matter (nudity, offensive religious or political statements, violence) may be juried out. All accepted work must be gallery quality and installation ready.
Submission deadline is June 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM HST. Artists will be notified by June 12, 2026. Accepted artwork drop-off is June 26-28, 2026 at two locations: Wailoa Center (Sunday, June 28, 10:00 AM-1:00 PM) or Kona Frame Shop parking lot (Friday, June 26, 10:00 AM; artwork dimensions cannot exceed 40"x40" including packaging). The exhibition runs July 3 - August 6, 2026, with an opening reception on July 3, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Artwork pick-up is Friday, August 6, 2026 at both locations. Monetary prizes will be awarded. For work sold, 75% goes to the artist and 25% goes to HIAA. Contact Wailoa Center at (808) 933-0416 or [email protected] for questions about eligibility.
