Aftertaste

They invite artists to submit their work for their upcoming group exhibition, Aftertaste. Aftertaste will explore the relationship between food, culture, memory, labor, ritual, politics, and survival. Inspired by conversations around food as a 'sustaining force' — something deeply personal yet profoundly social — this exhibition considers how food operates beyond nourishment: as identity, power, comfort, celebration, resistance, inheritance, and exchange. We are interested in works that examine the emotional, cultural, and political dimensions of food and eating. How do meals carry histories? How does food reflect systems of class, migration, colonialism, family, care, desire, or community? What rituals, tensions, or memories emerge around the table? Artists working in all media are encouraged to apply, including traditional and experimental practices. Humorous, critical, poetic, and unexpected approaches are welcome.
