After Dark 8

After Dark 8 is a national juried exhibition celebrating darkness and the varied reactions emblematic to this subject matter—nighttime, dark humor, dark fantasies, dark matter, etc. The exhibition runs March 23–April 13, 2019, with an opening reception on March 23rd at Greg Moon Art in Taos, New Mexico.

Entries are accepted in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, digital printed media, and assemblage. Applicants must submit 4–8 images. The entry fee is $40.00, with an additional $10.00 media fee per image over the minimum. All works must be for sale and remain in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. 2-D pieces are limited to 52" width and 72" height with framing. 3-D pieces are limited to 32" width/depth and 72" height. All photography and digital media prints (except Polaroid, platinum, and albumen) must have an image size of at least 8×10". Giclees and reproduction prints are only accepted in photography and digital media categories.

The show is open to all US-based artists 18 years and older. Jurors include Isabel Samaras (Artist, Pop-Surrealism Icon), Janet Webb (Designer and Curator), and Greg Moon (Artist, Curator, and Gallery Owner). The exhibition will be supported by a professionally printed invitation with national mailer, email announcement, website presence for selected artists, regional and national press coverage, opening reception, gallery sales staff, and exposure to prominent figures, collectors, curators, and publishers in the visual arts. Application deadline is February 28, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Notification of accepted works is March 8, with receivership March 11–15 and pick-up/return April 15–18.
