Aesthetics - 2024 (2nd Annual Juried Exhibition, Publication, Sales)

Aesthetics is the 2nd annual dual exhibition and publication opportunity to share various aspects of aesthetics in art. Aesthetics is defined as the pleasing qualities in an art piece. In visual art, factors such as balance, scale, shape, color, movement, and visual weight can determine aesthetic attributes. The aesthetic experience is created by visual fascination and involves a range of emotions from beauty to awe, sublimity, and many other emotions that viewers interact with while experiencing a piece of art.

For Aesthetics 2024, the subject is Free, and the call seeks artworks that create an emotional engagement with viewers. Artists are encouraged to explore classical, modern, and creatively odd artistic interpretations of aesthetics, including people, landscapes, animals, plants, still life, and illusions. All abstract and representational artists working in 2 and 3-dimensional media are welcome to submit. Accepted mediums include painting, drawing, illustration, photography, digital arts, sculpture, ceramic art, fiber art, mixed media, and many others. There is no size limit for submitted artworks, and artworks created within the last 5 years are preferred.

Submission is free of charge. Up to 6 artworks can be submitted, with a maximum of 2 artworks selected per artist. Selected artists will pay a selection fee of USD 40 (with 15% early bird discount available). Selected artworks will be showcased in an international online exhibition from September 4 to November 4, 2024, and published in The Book of Arts: Aesthetics publication. Selected artworks will be promoted for sales, included in an exhibition catalogue, and artists will receive a digital certificate, online profile page, promotional badges, and analytics reports.
