Adorn: A Collection of Artisanal Jewelry from Across the Country

Adorn is an artisanal jewelry exhibition featuring one-of-a-kind handmade fine art jewelry pieces. The exhibition will be displayed in the d'Art Center's historic bank vault gallery from Saturday, November 30th through Friday, December 20th, 2024. This is an in-person exhibition that will also be featured digitally on the d'Art Center's archive site.

Eligibility is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years. All styles and aesthetics are considered. The entry fee is $35 and covers up to 10 image submissions (one image per submission). For 3D work, artists should create a tile image showing multiple sides or use additional image slots for detail images labeled as such. Submissions are accepted from Tuesday, September 10th through Sunday, October 6th, 2024. Artists will be notified by email by 5pm on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024.

Accepted works must arrive by 5pm on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024. All works requiring special presentation or installation must include necessary items (necklace busts, earring displays, bracelet displays, etc.) and clear instructions. The d'Art Center's professional artists and staff will select a "Best in Show" piece, which will be awarded $300. Gallery sales commission is 70% artist, 30% d'Art Center. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Works should be shipped in reusable containers without packing peanuts. Works not picked up within one month of the exhibition end become property of the d'Art Center. The d'Art Center is located at 740 Boush St., Norfolk, VA 23510 and is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, and until 7pm on Thursdays.
