Adopt the Creative Program through CREATE MSU Denver

CREATE MSU Denver offers the Adopt the Creative program, which provides customized virtual business advising to creative entrepreneurs. The program was established through generous donors who recognize the value of self-sustaining creatives. Four fellowships of $450 each are being granted to become CREATE clients, representing a 50% program savings. Adoptees are responsible for the remaining costs and will receive one year or 12 meetings of mentorship with an expert in their field. Meetings are conducted one-on-one virtually between the advisor and the client.

The program is open to creative entrepreneurs currently operating in the arts (fine art, sculpture, photography, jewelry, etc.), music, and fashion industries who are 18 years or older. Applicants must either have their business registered with State and Federal agencies and possess city and state sales tax licenses, or agree to complete this registration within the first 60 days if accepted. CREATE clients also have the opportunity to display their work in the organization's 1000 sq ft showroom in Denver and on their website at CREATEmsudenver.com.

Applications must be submitted by October 31, 2014, and should include a completed application, artist/design statement (not to exceed 1000 characters), artist biography, resume or CV, proof of business registration and licenses if applicable, responses to Adopt the Creative questions, a one-page proposal explaining why you should be considered for the program, and up to 5 images, videos, or audio files with captions including year, media, and dimensions.
