About This Call
Colorado Creative Industries seeks to acquire public art through direct purchase of existing artwork for Adams State University's East Campus Building. The total funding available for artwork acquisition is $33,200, with individual artworks priced at $5,000 or less. The university is looking to acquire multiple artworks.
This opportunity is open to Colorado artists only. Due to the building's design and limited floor space, only 2D artworks will be considered. Works may be sculptural in nature as long as they are wall-mounted and do not protrude more than 4 inches. The Art Selection Committee is seeking at least two artworks that directly relate to the Human Performance & Physical Education (HPPE) program, addressing movement, sport, and physical activity. The committee is also interested in artworks that showcase inclusive excellence and reflect the program's commitment to diversity. For other areas of the building, artworks related thematically to movement, transformation, and transition will be considered. Current faculty, staff, and alumni of ASU are encouraged to apply.
Artists must submit 1-3 digital images of available artworks, a resume, and a statement of interest (500 words or less) through the CaFÉ online system. There is no application fee. Artwork must be ready to hang and framed if applicable, with frames in good condition. Artists are required to deliver or ship selected artworks to the East Campus location. The Art Selection Committee will review submissions and notify selected artists in January 2017, with delivery expected in January/February 2017. For questions, contact Ruth Bruno, Public Art Program Manager, at 303-844-3813 or [email protected].
