ACNMWA 2025 Artist Award

The Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts selects an accomplished Arkansas woman-identified visual artist each year to receive the ACNMWA Artist Award. This $4,000 award helps the artist support and further her studio practice, with funds available for artist expenses related to professional development or pursuit of new creative work, including workshop training, research, travel, essential equipment or supplies, studio expenses, childcare, or study.

Applicants must be woman-identified visual artists residing in Arkansas for at least one year by January 31, 2025. Student work is not eligible, and previous winners of the Artist Award or members of the Arkansas Committee of NMWA are not eligible. Applications must include 6 images (JPEG only, no larger than 1200 pixels on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, not exceeding 5 MB) and optionally one video file. The award selection is made by a committee of the Arkansas Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

The winner will be notified in March 2025 and will be included in the online Artist Registry and featured on ACNMWA social media. The winner must complete a W-9 form, provide a brief biography and recent photograph, actively assist in publicizing the award through social media and interviews, report periodically to the award committee, and in 2026 make an audiovisual or in-person presentation to the ACNMWA board.
