Abundance 2016

Studio Channel Islands invites submissions for Abundance 2016, an art exhibition celebrating farm-to-table heritage with works inspired by farmlands, vineyards, farmers markets, and culinary traditions. All art forms are welcome, including performance, video, sound, sculpture, and visual artistic expression. Artists may submit works in any medium exploring the theme, from plein air to abstract, literal to conceptual.

Accepted categories include 2D, 3D, video, film, performance, and installation. The exhibition accepts video, film, performance art, and installation works requiring external electrical sources; however, artists must provide all their own equipment, including motors, computers, iPads, extension cords, projectors, and headphones. All submissions must be original work by the artist.

Entry fee is $47 for non-members or $35 for members with code. Submissions deadline is September 9, 2016. Work sample requirements: minimum 1 image, maximum 10 images; audio submissions 0-6; video submissions 0-6; total samples 1-10. The exhibition runs September 29 – October 29, 2016, with opening reception October 1, 2016, 4-6 PM. Juror is Gail Pidduck. Awards include three Juror's Awards with cash prizes: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100. Artist notification date is September 20, 2016. Artwork drop-off is September 27, 9am-5pm. Latest receive date for shipped artwork is September 24. Pick-up day is October 29, 2-5pm. Artists shipping artwork must provide a return label.
