Abstractions

This exhibition seeks abstract artwork that marries color, shape, pattern, texture, and imagination for work independent of visual reality. All fine art media will be considered except film. The call is open to artists worldwide, both amateur and professional.

The show runs from October 28 through November 22, 2020. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry, with a maximum of 20 total entries. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance. JPEGs are due by Friday, September 25, 2020, and artists will be notified of acceptance by Friday, October 2, 2020. Local drop-off of work is Monday, October 26 between noon-5pm. Work being shipped must arrive by Monday, October 26 and no sooner than Monday, October 19, 2020. An Open House will be held on Saturday, October 31 from 2-5pm. Unsold work can be picked up on Monday, November 23 between noon-5pm, with shipped work returning during the week of November 30, 2020.

The Director's Choice award is $250. Work that is copied or done under the guidance of an instructor is not eligible. Only submit work that will be available at the time of the exhibit and will remain for its entirety. Framed work must be fitted firmly in frame with wire for hanging with no loose glass over mats; gallery wrapped canvases are permitted. All images must be in JPEG format, no smaller than 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi, with a maximum file size of 5 mb. Shipping and return shipping fees are the artist's responsibility. Members of the Cultural Center are charged a 30% commission on sales; non-members are charged 40%.
