About This Call
Abstraction at Large is an international juried art exhibition at Site:Brooklyn, running April 12 – May 6, 2018, with an opening reception on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6-9 PM. The exhibition seeks to bring forward how abstraction shapes contemporary art practice as a living visual language. This open call invites artists to submit work in painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, and photography.
Eligibility is open to all artists 18 years of age or older working in two-dimensional media. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. Artists must submit between 3 and 12 images. The juror is Eleanor Heartney, a contributing editor to Art in America and Artpress and past president of AICA-USA. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by March 7, 2018, with a confirmation of participation required by March 11, 2018.
Accepted work must be original, suitably framed to professional standards, wired and ready for hanging, and priced for sale. Maximum size is 48" x 60" x 4" D. Framed work must use Plexiglas except hand-delivered work less than 24" x 30". All artwork must be delivered between March 19 and April 6, 2018, or hand-delivered on Friday, April 6 (12:00-5:00 PM) or Saturday, April 7 (9:00 AM-2:00 PM). Hand-delivered work must be removed by May 8, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Site:Brooklyn retains a 50% commission on all sales. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and insurance.
