Abstraction

Abstraction is a regional exhibition running September 4 - October 9, 2025 at Kavanagh Gallery, Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St Charles, Illinois. The show will exhibit work where the artist's ideas and imagery are created abstractly. Both 2-D and 3-D work in any medium will be considered. The size limitation for work submitted is 48" wide with no height restriction.

Abstraction is open to artists 18 years or older who reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, or Wisconsin. Each applicant may submit up to 3 pieces with a non-refundable entry fee of $35.00. Artwork must be original, not previously shown at Fine Line, and all pieces must be for sale. Artists must supply an artist statement of no more than 1000 characters. Jurors' selections are based on creativity, quality of artistry, and originality. Notification of jury decisions will be sent by August 9, 2025.

The artist is responsible for shipping artwork to and from Fine Line Creative Arts Center and for insuring items during shipping. Fine Line provides security with 24/7 video monitoring and insurance coverage from receipt of work until the end of the show (valued at 70% of sale price). The show will charge a 30% sales commission for any artwork sold. Fine Line handles all sales, sales tax, and installation. Delivery and check-in is September 2, 2025 (10 am - 5 pm). The opening reception is September 4, 2025 (6-8 pm). Pick-up is October 11, 2025 (10 am - 5 pm). Awards totaling $800.00 will be given.
