About This Call
The Gallery at FDC invites artists to apply for "Abstracted Realms: A Modern Interpretation of Landscapes," an exhibition exploring new interpretations of landscape art. The show seeks artists whose work plays on traditional landscape themes while stretching conventional norms for the genre. All 2-D work is welcome. Artists must be regional to Denver, CO to apply. All artwork must be original and for sale; prints, sculpture, and AI work will not be considered.
The exhibition runs August 9 - September 27, 2024, at The Gallery at FDC (Fellowship Denver Church), 1990 S. Broadway, Denver, CO. The opening reception is Friday, August 9 from 5-9pm. Three cash prizes will be awarded and announced at the opening reception: Best of Show ($500), People's Choice ($250, chosen by opening reception attendees), and two Honorable Mentions ($100 each). The entry fee is $25 for up to three art pieces. The deadline to enter is midnight (MST) on July 3, 2024. Results will be emailed the week of July 15.
Accepted work must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring in good condition. All paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges; 2-D works on paper must be framed. Accepted artwork may be shipped (reusable containers only, with pre-paid return shipping label) until August 1 at 4pm, or hand-delivered by appointment July 22 - August 1. All artwork must be delivered by August 1 at 4pm. Artists keep 100% of sales and are responsible for shipping and return shipping costs and insurance. Artwork pickup is September 30 - October 1, 9am-4pm, or shipped work will be packaged and shipped Monday, September 30, 2024.
