Abstract is Everything 2023

The Abstract Art Collective (AAC) is seeking submissions for the "Abstract is Everything" juried member exhibition. The juror is Jane Callister, Professor in the Art Studio department at UCSB. The exhibition will be held at Voice Gallery, La Cumbre Plaza, 121 S. Hope Avenue, Santa Barbara, from June 1st to June 29th, 2023. The opening reception is June 1, 5-8pm, and the closing reception is Thursday, June 29th, 5-8pm.

The AAC accepts abstract art in both 2D and 3D formats, supporting a broad definition of abstract art ranging from non-objective to conceptual work. Submissions must include 1-5 entries at $30 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry. Entry deadline is May 6, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Acceptance notification will be sent May 20. Ingathering is Tuesday, May 30, 10am-12pm, with hanging from 12pm-5pm. Takedown is Friday, June 30, 10am-12pm.

2D work must be no more than 4 feet wide with frame, no limit on height, and no more than 6 inches deep. Paintings must be back wired with standard multi-strand picture wire. Giclée copies are not accepted, but inkjet prints of digitally created work, hand-pulled prints, and photography are accepted. 3D sculptures must be less than 100 lbs, less than 8 feet high, and take less than 6 square feet of floor space. Free standing sculptures must be stable or bolted to a base. Submit clear images of artwork with no frame or background, cropped to the edges. Images must be JPEG or JPG format, 1,200 pixels or greater on longest side, under 5 MB, with sRGB color profile. Title, medium, size, and year are required for each entry. Delivery is Tuesday, May 30, 10am-12pm. Artists keep 70% of sales; 30% goes to AAC after credit card fees and mall commission. You must be a current member of the Abstract Art Collective with current membership dues to be eligible.
