About This Call
Art Scene West is accepting submissions from abstract artists for an exhibition running October 4 through November 30, 2024. Up to 20 artists will be selected to display their paintings at the gallery located in Seaport Village, downtown San Diego (849 W Harbor Drive, San Diego 92101). Selected work will also be featured on the Art Scene West online gallery and promoted through social media and the website. Artists will receive their own artist page on the website featuring their bio, personal statement, photo, and artwork images. Selected artists will earn a 70% commission on any artwork sales.
The submission deadline is September 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. The $35 submission fee covers review of the artist's work and biography. Selected artists must pay a $300 participation fee by September 22, 2024 to cover handling, curation, the opening reception on October 5, and website content upload. Artists are responsible for shipping and return-shipping fees. Artwork delivery is due October 3, 2024. Unsold artwork will be shipped back to artists beginning December 1, 2024.
Eligible artworks must be 2D, original creations, hang-ready, and not exceed 4 feet in height or width. All artwork must be available for sale and ready to ship. Submissions should include up to 4 clear, high-quality images of the artwork, along with artwork title, dimensions, media, creation year, and proposed asking price. Artists must provide a bio and statement (300 words maximum each), optional artist photo, social media and website links if applicable, city/state of residence and/or country of origin, email address, and phone number. International artists are eligible.
