About This Call

UPDATE: Due to Covid-19 issues and a spike in cases in Grays Harbor County, the 2020 Fine Arts, Photography & 3D Show has been cancelled, along with the AAOS Arts & Crafts Show that had been rescheduled to September 4-6, 2020. Entry fees will be fully refunded.

Artists were invited to enter up to 5 pieces of original work to compete for cash awards totaling up to $4,600, including an $800 Best of Show award, $100 President's Award, and $100 People's Choice Award. The competition accepted work in three categories: Fine Art, Photography, and 3D. Up to 200 pieces were accepted from regional artists in Washington and Oregon. The show was scheduled for June 26-28, 2020 at the Convention Center in Ocean Shores, WA, in conjunction with the Sand and Sawdust Festival. Entry fee was $50 for 1-5 total entries in any of the three categories.

Fine Art includes oils, acrylics, pen, pencil, watercolor, pastel, and 2-dimensional mixed media (no digital or electronic media). Photography includes film, digital, and electronic media. 3D work includes fiber art, wood carvings, leather work, metal, stained glass, and sculptures. All entries must be framed with wire hangers (no clips or saw-tooth hangers; gallery wraps permitted) with maximum/minimum framed dimensions of at least 12" but not exceeding 52" horizontal and/or vertical. All entries must be for sale, with Associated Arts of Ocean Shores receiving a 25% commission. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Work will be judged by Loni Lou LaQuil, D'Elaine Johnson, and Susan Christian. Artists may not substitute or withdraw accepted work. AAOS reserves the right to refuse any piece of unacceptable quality or artwork that does not match the digital image submitted.
