A Stitch in Time: Contemporary Textile & Fiber Art

Arts Benicia, a non-profit art center in Benicia, CA, invites artists to submit artwork for A Stitch in Time, a juried exhibition showcasing outstanding works related to the fiber medium. The exhibition runs August 17 – October 6, 2024, with juror Aimee Le Duc.

Entries may include practical and impractical 2D or 3D works for wall or floor, sculptures, vessels, installations, and/or wearables. All submissions must include a fiber material or textile technique; upcycled materials and natural fibers are encouraged. There are no size limitations, though final selections will consider overall exhibition design. Hanging work is limited to 35 pounds; floor work for 3D pieces must not exceed 300 lbs. Artists may submit up to 6 artworks with one application. Images should be 1-3 MB each. An optional concept statement may be submitted.

Entry deadline is May 17, 2024 at 10:59 PM Pacific Time. Entry fees are $35 for non-members ($25 for members) for the first artwork, plus $5 for each additional entry up to 6 total. Jury results will be notified by June 6. Shipped artwork must arrive by July 26; hand-delivered work by July 26, 1-4 PM. Artwork pickup is October 8, 1-4 PM. All accepted artists must sign an exhibition contract. Artwork must be available for sale; artists receive 60% of sales proceeds. Arts Benicia bears all sales transaction fees and collects sales tax.
