About This Call
A Point of View: Contemporary Photography is an international juried art exhibition at Site:Brooklyn exploring current ideas, subjects and processes in contemporary photography. The exhibition runs July 15 – August 12, 2016, with an opening reception on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 6-9PM.
This open call is for artists 18 years of age or older working in photography. Submissions must include 3-12 images. The entry fee is $35 for up to three images, plus $10 for each additional image. All entries must be received by midnight, June 7, 2016 PST. Notification of acceptance will be made via email by June 15, 2016, with a required confirmation of participation by June 20, 2016.
The juror is Mitra Abbaspour, an independent curator and scholar based in NYC and former Associate Curator in the Department of Photography at The Museum of Modern Art. Abbaspour seeks "finely crafted photographs that present layered ideas and subjects" and is interested in documentary, studio, and conceptual photographic practices. $1000.00 in prizes will be awarded. Accepted work must be suitably framed to professional standards, wired and ready for hanging, and priced for sale. Maximum size is 48" w X 60" H X 4" D. Site:Brooklyn retains a 40% commission on all exhibition sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping of artwork and should provide their own insurance. Hand-delivered work can be delivered July 11-12 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and must be removed August 13th or August 15th from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
