A Night at the Casa Azul

Art Works Downtown of San Rafael is hosting a celebratory fundraising event featuring a silent auction of 2- and 3-dimensional artworks. Artists whose work is selected will have already specified the price they would be comfortable receiving if their piece sells, which is listed as the minimum bid. If no one bids on the piece, the artist receives it back. If the highest bid matches the minimum, all of that money goes to the artist. If bids exceed the minimum, any amount above it is considered a donation to Art Works Downtown by the artist.

The event celebrates the House-Studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo in Mexico City. Open to all visual arts media except video. Marin artists only. Submit up to three pieces via CaFE.org only; submissions must include a retail price and a minimum sale price. Entry is free. Accepted artists receive one free, non-transferable ticket to the event plus the opportunity to purchase one additional ticket for a guest for $25. Work will be displayed at the 2nd Friday Art Walk on September 11th and at the Casa de Azul Fundraising Party on September 26th.

Delivery of accepted work: Saturday, September 5, 2015, 10am-4pm at Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth St., San Rafael. All work must be ready for installation; wall-hung work must be securely wired. Artists must deliver an artist statement and resume and sign a consignment/donation contract upon delivery. Unsold artwork may be picked up October 1st-3rd, 10am-4pm. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email by September 2nd.
