About This Call
A Fine Line is a juried exhibition open to all artists in the United States working in 2D media (excluding photography and digital art). The theme invites artists to interpret "line" as a literal element or as inspiration from lines of poetry or song. Jurors are Lois Harada and Karen Harris.
The exhibition will be held both online and in person at the gallery in Pawtucket, Rhode Island from July 8 – August 3, 2023. Drop-off and shipping dates are June 23 – July 6, 2023 (Thursdays & Fridays 10am-4pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm). Pick-up and return shipping dates are August 5-19, 2023 (same hours). Notification of acceptance is June 22, 2023. Artwork should not exceed 48 inches on the longest side (including frame). Work must be professionally presented and framed work must be under glass or Plexiglas with wiring that does not show when hung.
Acceptable 2D media include watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oils, ink, casein, collage, mixed media, monotype, and egg tempera on surfaces such as watercolor paper, canvas, rice paper, illustration board, and wood. Eligibility requirements include: work must not have been exhibited in a previous Rhode Island Watercolor Society juried show; work must have been completed within the last 10 years; work may not be copied from copyrighted material or created under the direct guidance of another or by following a tutorial. Entry fee is $20 for non-members and $15 for members (submit 1-3 images). The Rhode Island Watercolor Society receives 35% of sales.
